Vermaelen could leave

Speaking at a conference ahead of the community shield tie with Manchester City on Sunday, Wenger admitted that Vermaelen could leave. Wenger revealed the club has received various bids and Manchester United could be one of them.

The Belgian has been linked to United as Van Gaal wants to add experience to his defense force. Barcelona has also been linked to the Arsenal skipper.

Wenger refused to reveal the names of the clubs that have placed bids for the Belgian. "Have we received bids? Yes. I can't tell you who from but you will know very soon," Wenger said.
